16h-18h
Children's Library in English, Av. de France 77, 1004 Lausanne
Hello Readers!
This is Elsie, the 4-year-old daughter of my good friend Katie in the U.S. Elsie is fun, silly, loves books, and she is a beloved little sister and daughter. She has also valiantly fought through neuroblastoma and has now been No Evidence of Disease for 6 months!
I would dearly love to raise money for those fighting childhood cancer to help children like Elsie. To this end, the Children’s Library in English plans to have an Elsie’s Evening from 16h-18h on Saturday, September 28th! Elsie’s Evening will be a family-friendly talent show for all ages and also a time of delicious refreshments. A donations box (and TWINT number) will be available throughout the evening, and 100% of donations will go to fighting childhood cancer. In order to help children in both Switzerland and the U.S., half of the total will go to Zoé4Life (https://zoe4life.org/) and half to the American Childhood Cancer Organization (https://www.acco.org/).
If you would like to participate, please let me know either by calling or texting 077 485 63 11 or emailing [email protected]. Committing as soon as possible will allow all of us plenty of time to practice our talents and reserve September 28th, from 16h-18h. We encourage children, parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, truly EVERYONE to participate! You can present a talent, bring a treat to share, help with set-up or clean-up, and/or come to enjoy the entertainment, food, and community!
Ideas for the Talent Show (to be performed in English, French, or any other language):
- - Sing a Song
- - Play an Instrument
- - Recite Original or Favorite Poetry
- - Dramatize a Scene
- - Do a Dramatic Reading
- - Tell a joke
- - Do a magic trick
We will also exhibit any physical art you might like to share along the walls of the library space. So photos, drawings, paintings, sculpture, etc. are welcome!
With care,
Martina (CLE Librarian)
