Children's Library in English, Av. de France 77, 1004 Lausanne
This is Elsie, the 3-year-old daughter of my good friend Katie in the U.S. Elsie is fun, silly, loves books, and she is a beloved little sister and daughter. She is also valiantly fighting neuroblastoma.
I would dearly love to raise money for those fighting childhood cancer to help Elsie and many other children. To this end, the Children’s Library in English plans to have an Elsie’s Evening from 16h-18h on Saturday, December 2nd! Elsie’s Evening will be a family-friendly talent show for all ages and also a time of delicious refreshments. A donations box will be available throughout the evening, and 100% of donations will go to fighting childhood cancer. In order to help children in both Switzerland and the U.S., half of the total will go to Children’s Cancer Research Fund (https://childrenscancer.org/) and half to Zoé4Life (https://zoe4life.org/).
If you would like to participate, please let me know either by calling or texting 077 485 63 11 or emailing email@example.com. Committing as soon as possible will allow all of us plenty of time to practice our talents and reserve December 2nd, from 16h-18h. We encourage children, parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, truly EVERYONE to participate! You can present a talent, bring a treat to share, help with set-up or clean-up, and/or come to enjoy the entertainment, food, and community!
Ideas for the Talent Show (to be performed in English, French, or any other language):
- - Sing a Song
- - Play an Instrument
- - Recite Original or Favorite Poetry
- - Dramatize a Scene
- - Do a Dramatic Reading
- - Tell a joke
- - Do a magic trick
We will also exhibit any physical art you might like to share along the walls of the library space. So photos, drawings, paintings, sculpture, etc. are welcome!
