Mission Statement
The goal of CLE is to provide enjoyable, wholesome reading material in English for children and teens in Lausanne, Switzerland and its surrounding area.
CLE also strives to provide a family-friendly, interactive environment that encourages all patrons to explore, not only through books but also through games, learning tools, puppetry, and writing.

About the Librarian
Martina Smith came to Lausanne, Switzerland from Murfreesboro, Tennessee, USA in 2013 after having met and married her Lausannois husband, Justin. She and Justin met while studying at Harding University, after which time Martina taught elementary school until their move to Lausanne together. From working in university libraries as a student worker to volunteering in the puppet program of the Nashville Public Library, Martina has continually pursued her dream of becoming a children's librarian. She is very excited to continue here in Lausanne as she and Justin surround their own little ones with books! |
